Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, the Ruuna bench is part of an upholstered furniture system that also includes matching poufs, developed for domestic and collective environments. The collection adopts a sober and measured language, where the geometry of volumes combines with continuous lines, devoid of edges, to define an essential but recognizable presence.Ruuna is designed to discreetly respond to different contexts: living areas, transit spaces, waiting areas or bedrooms. It can be used as a stand-alone element or juxtaposed with other modules in the collection, suggesting free compositions.The padding is calibrated to provide stable and comfortable support, maintaining its shape even after prolonged use. The compact structure and balance of materials contribute to an unobtrusive presence that fits without forcing. The design approach reflects a balance between industrial rigor and tactile sensitivity: every detail-from the stitching to the curvature of surfaces-participates in a coherent vision. Ruuna interprets upholstered furniture as a means of relating to space, avoiding any formal redundancy.
