Rigadino is the rug designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, a project that blends traditional craftsmanship and visual experimentation.Made entirely of wool, Rigadino is inspired by historical Venetian glasswork, particularly the decorative motif of the "rigadin," reinterpreting it in a textile key with a graphic pattern that has a strong scenic impact. The rug has an irregular perimeter, marked by a thick outline in black lines that recalls the typical veining of Murano glass. This unconventional frame frames a dynamic play of stripes and curves, shaping a visual composition that captures the eye and invites contemplation. The textures move and intersect in a hypnotic dance of shapes and colours, making each corner of the rug unique and always different. Rigadino is available in four colour combinations that recall other objects in Patricia Urquiola's collection for Cassina, such as the Sestiere vases and the No Vanitas mirror: teal with carrot red, amethyst with lemon yellow, topaz with periwinkle, and bluino with petrol green. An object that tells the memory of materials and techniques, transforming it into a contemporary and surprising decorative element.
