Cesca is a seating collection designed by Marcel Breuer and produced by the Knoll brand. The frame is made of tubular steel and the seat and backrest are made of hand-woven beech, or fully upholstered in fabric. The series also includes a stool. The Cesca chair, created in 1929, represents a pioneering innovation in interior design. At a time when the use of metal for furniture was still unusual, Marcel Breuer, with great foresight, created this chair using curved tubular steel. This material, known for its coldness, was skilfully combined with the ancient technique of straw molding, using Vienna straw, creating a fascinating contrast.
